Sunday 24th March saw our final games for the season completed. Firstly our B division game at 12 noon between Raptors and Pirates saw a hard fought game with all 3 periods under tight control from goals. No 1 team dominated the game, with the final score after 3 periods being at 3 all. The game went into 10 minute overtime with the Raptors quickly taking charge and becoming B Division champions for 2012/2013. Congrats to both teams for a great game for all to watch, and congratulations to the Raptors for achieving this goal and being B Division champions. The following A Division game between Pirates and Sharks was expected to be a very tight game as both sides had played very well all season. But the Pirates took early control and never looked back as they dominated each period convincingly with a game ending score of 12.4 against Sharks. Congratulations to both teams for this finals game, and special congratulations to Pirates for becoming A Division champions for the 2nd year running. Congratulations to all teams and players throughout the season, and your commitment to Floorball in Perth. We look forward to the next season of 2013/2014 and your involvement once again. Thanks also to all our team supporters who ventured out each week, as well as those Referees and Scorers. Added thanks to the FAWA Competitions Sub-Committee for organising this event and the weekly rounds. See you all again for next season..... |

FAWA were thrilled to host the Springfield Secondary School Girls team from Singapore as they visited Perth during 30th May to 4th June to play local teams/players in Floorball. During their 6 day stay they - - Travelled to Northam to meet with Leith Woods and the local Northam School team
- Did a school exchange visit to Thornlie High School
- Trained and played a local womens team at Lords Subiaco
- Did a training and gameplay with the Redbacks juniors at Byford
- and a training and gameplay with the local Australian National women at Revolution Sports
Adrian (Singapore Team Manager) was very complimentary of the warm welcome and hospitality offered from the Perth players and how wonderful it was for his team to have this opportunity to train and play against other teams rather than against the usual teams in Singapore. Overall it was a great visit and fantastic outcome for his team and their own growth. FAWA thanks Springfield for their visit to Perth, and also thanks our own local players and centres who offered their time to make this visit the success it was, and once again showing how Floorball in Perth has so much to offer everyone. |
